日本海を望む海辺に佇む、四畳の茶室

A庵 余白は、20フィートコンテナを茶室へ改装した小さな空間です。

北海道では、季節によって人の動きも、自然環境も、土地の魅力も大きく変化します。A庵 余白は、雪に覆われた大地と羊蹄山を望む環境の中で、数畳の茶室に入り、一服の茶を受ける場所としてつくられました。

この夏秋は、北海道・余市の海辺にて、
日本海の雄大さと岬に落ちていく太陽を望みながら、一服の茶をご提供します。

A-an Yohaku is a small room built inside a twenty-foot container.

In Hokkaido the season changes how people move, what the land looks like, and what it is good for. The room was first made for winter — a few mats of space facing snow and Mount Yotei, where a single bowl of tea is served.

Through this summer and autumn it stands on the shore at Yoichi, Hokkaido, serving that bowl facing the Sea of Japan as the sun goes down behind the headland.

海へ向かう時間から、体験は始まる

「A庵 余白・余市edition」では、茶室の中で一服の茶を受ける時間だけを切り取るのではなく、余市に到着し、海へ向かい、その土地で時間を過ごすところまでを一つの体験として捉えています。

砂浜をバギーで走り、日本海の前に置かれた小さな茶室へ。アイスバスで精神的な限界突破を果たした後に、にじり口を潜ります。窓の外には海があり、室内には湯と茶碗がある。風景が変わり、光が傾く中で亭主が茶を点て、ゲストはその時間を過ごします。

多くのコンテンツを加えるのではなく、雄大な自然の中の圧倒的な身体体験によって、普段とは異なる時間を感じていただきたいと考えています。

The Yoichi edition does not begin at the door of the tea room. Arriving in Yoichi, driving out to the sea, and the time you spend on that shore are all part of one experience.

You cross the sand on an ATV to the small room set down in front of the water. After the ice bath you duck through the low entrance. Through the window there is the sea; inside there is hot water and a bowl. The view shifts, the light tips, the host makes tea, and you sit in it.

Nothing is piled on top. We would rather let a vast landscape, and an overwhelming experience of the body, change how the time feels.

茶道が育んできた美意識や価値観は、日本人の感性の奥深くに今も息づいています。一方で、現代の日常の中で、その世界に触れる機会は決して多くありません。

「余白」は、そんな日本の伝統文化の一片を、もっと自由に、現代の感覚で体験できる場所としてつくりました。何かを足すのではなく、あえて何もない時間と心の余白をつくる。新しい発想や感性は、そんな「無」の中からこそ生まれる。そのことを、茶室という空間を通して感じてもらいたいと思っています。

The sense of beauty that tea has built over centuries still runs deep in us. Everyday life simply leaves few chances to meet it.

Yohaku was made so that a piece of that tradition can be met more freely, in a contemporary way. Not adding things, but deliberately making time and room that hold nothing. New thinking comes out of that emptiness. I would like people to feel it through the room itself.

Why Yoichi

なぜ余市を選んだか

余市は、札幌から車で1時間半ほど、小樽の横にある小さなまちです。

古くはウィスキー。その後2011年に北海道初の「ワイン特区」に認定され、ピノ・ノワールをはじめとする繊細で高品質なブドウ栽培に適した気候・土壌を持つ、世界的にも注目のワイン産地として知られています。

Yoichi is a small town beside Otaru, an hour and a half by car from Sapporo.

Whisky came first. Then, in 2011, it became Hokkaido's first designated wine district — a climate and soil suited to Pinot Noir and other demanding grapes, and now a wine region watched from well beyond Japan.

Stay on afterwards for the food and the wine. The host will point you to the right place.

A few things to know before you come.

集合時間について
日没と、みなさまのご予定に合わせて柔軟に調整いたします。九月なら十六時ごろ、十月の終わりには十五時ごろをおすすめしておりますが、朝の光の中や、昼すぎから始めるのも、また違った趣があります。詳しくは、ご予約の際にご相談ください。 We set the hour around the sunset and around your plans. We usually suggest around four in the afternoon in September, and around three by the end of October — though the morning light, or a start just after noon, has a character of its own. Tell us what you would prefer when you book.
タイムスケジュールについて
体験全体は二時間ほどで、そのうち茶室にいるのが六十分です。終わったあとはそのままお帰りになっても結構ですし、近くのレストランや宿までお送りすることもできます。 About two hours in all, sixty minutes of it inside the tea room. Afterwards you are free to go, or we can drive you to a restaurant, or back to where you are staying.
アイスバスについて
天候のよい日には、茶室に入る前にアイスバスに浸かることをおすすめしております。心臓や血圧にご不安のある方、妊娠中の方は、事前にご相談ください。水着とバスタオルは、お貸し出しもできます。 When the weather is good we recommend an ice bath before you enter the room. If you have a heart or blood-pressure condition, or are pregnant, please tell us beforehand. We can lend you swimwear and towels.
荒天の場合について
小雨や風の日は、そのまま実施いたします。ただ、台風や大雨、津波注意報などが出ている場合は、安全を優先して中止といたします。その際は前日から当日の朝までにご連絡し、日程の振替をご相談させてください。 Light rain and wind are fine; we go ahead. If there is a typhoon, heavy rain or a tsunami advisory, we cancel — safety comes first. We will tell you the night before or that morning, and find you another date.
人数と料金について
茶室の広さに限りがありますので、一組あたり四名までとさせていただいております。浜はプライベートビーチのため、その日は貸切です。
体験は一組 30,000円から。夕食や宿をご希望の方には別途ご案内いたしますので、ご予約の際にお申し付けください。 The room is small, so we take up to four people per group. The beach is private, so the day is yours alone. From ¥30,000 per group; tell us when you book if you would also like dinner or a room, and we will arrange it separately.

茶室のあとに、夕食と宿をご用意することもできます。
体験の料金には含みませんので、ご希望の方だけ、ご予約の際にお申し付けください。

夜は余市の食材とワインを、翌朝にはバギーで巡るワイン葡萄畑ツアーを。宿は、余市駅前の LOOP か、丘の上の KISIN からお選びいただけます。茶室から宿やレストランへのご送迎も可能です。

A wine-led hotel across from Yoichi station. Thirteen rooms of wood, steel and concrete, and a restaurant built around Yoichi wine and what the season gives. If you stay for dinner, this is the table your group sits at.

リビングの大きな窓から日本海が見えます。地下には800本まで収まるワインセラーがあり、サウナと水風呂、薪ストーブも備えています。チェックインを LOOP で済ませてから、車で15分ほど坂を上っていただきます。

A whole house to yourselves, on the hill above the town. The Sea of Japan fills the living-room window. Below it, a cellar for eight hundred bottles, and a sauna, a cold bath and a wood stove. You check in at Loop first, then drive about fifteen minutes up the hill.

In the winter of 2026, A-an moves to Niseko — a different bowl of tea, in front of snow and Mount Yotei. We are taking early reservations: use the form above, check “Not decided yet”, and write “Niseko” in the comments. We will come back to you with the dates as soon as they are set.
